About Us
Hello! My name is Julia and I'm the creator of the Paws Print Love website and our sister site,
Cat Charm Box.
Since I was a young girl I've always been an animal lover. When I was just two-years-old, my parents rented an apartment in a working farm house that had cows, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, and a large fenced in area for the wild horses which I was absolutely forbidden to go near!
I remember vividly one afternoon watching one particular wild horse that was just very aggressive and miserable about being there. I stood watching that horse hidden from my parents behind some bales of hay a few feet from the fence watching him buck and pace the entire one wall of fence over and over. Naturally, I wanted to do the same. Against my parents and the owners of the farm's wishes, I snuck inside the pen. I thought I could run just as fast as the horse did and started my trek running along with him trying my best to be as fast as him! His black mane blowing in the wind and his powerful hooves thumping along the dirt beside me, then past me and in front of me coming back. Then suddenly, the horse stopped. A-ha I thought! I outran him! But no. The horse stopped in his tracks to now watch me go back and forth in his pen with a gentle curiousity. Only coming to me when I was out of breath and stood in front of him. Time seemed to stand still as I looked into his eyes. They seemed sad, restless but curious to see me. Almost like he was missing someone or something. Something I can only understand now. Unbeknownst to me at the time, both my parents and the owners of the property were screaming at the top of their lungs for me to get out of the horses pen while they were running towards me. I loved that horse and the owners admitted that they had never seen the horse mellow even for just a moment. From that end on, that black stallion never gave them a hard time or so I was told. He became part of their family after that with some training. I never forgot that horse. But since the incident, my mom who perhaps was the most traumitized by the incident, decided maybe it would be ok if I had a couple of cats instead to keep me "occupied" from going in the horse pen. The rest is history. A couple of cats turned to several kitty companions.
I created this website and the Cat Charm Box because I found myself as an entrepreneur making everything personalized for pet parents with their furry companions on them! I was also making designs and patterns that resonated with other pet parent people! I had started on Etsy selling my kitchen items like pot holders, oven mitts, and placemats all with animal patterns! They were my most cherished items that I loved to make and that were very popular. Then came the Christmas stockings mostly with dogs and cats on them! People were loving the items and so I figured a place for pet parents to go to celebrate their companions would be a perfect fit!
